I painted this series from sketches made in oil pastels drawn on site from Rogersceugh Farm (RSPB) near Bowness on Solway in North Cumbria looking across the Solway Firth towards Criffel mountain in Southwest Scotland.

CUMBRIAN LANDSCAPES
When living along the route of Hadrian's Wall I spent many days sketching in oil pastels around that area and also the Eden valley.
Copper Beeches was inspired by the view near to Armathwaite.
